Salvation

The first step in braving grace is receiving salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says,

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Salvation is available through Jesus, by faith in His finished work. Romans 10:9-10 says,

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

We encourage you today to act on what you believe. If you believe that Jesus is God’s Son, that He died to forgive all of your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead, then declare it and salvation is yours.

How could it be so simple? The Bible teaches that way back in Genesis, Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness. God’s heart has always been that we would believe Him and He rewards that belief. Our passage from Romans teaches that when we give voice to that belief, it comes alive.

John 1:12 says that “as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believed in His name.” Believe, confess, and become. Then immerse yourself in the grace He gives so freely.

If you aren’t sure what to say, we suggest something like this:

“Father God, thank you for sending Jesus. I believe that He is your Son. I believe that He died for my sins. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I receive salvation by faith. Thank you for forgiving me, cleansing me, and giving me the gift of righteousness. Thank you for making me your child. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
